I visited Michael with a colleague in May 2014 and stayed at his home for one month. The experience was great and Michael made things easy from the very beginning.
First of all, we had regular communications with Michael before our arrival. We would have liked to stay in two separate rooms but there was only one room available in our dates. Michael made big efforts to try to find alternatives, reporting to us at every step; this is something we really appreciated. With Michael it was very easy to build mutual trust before the arrival.
Once in the house, Michael turned out to be a great host. He showed us the area and we could share several meals with him both in local restaurants and at home. Conversations with Michael were always open and friendly and we could learn a lot from his experience. I particularly like staying with locals rather than in hotels in order to know more about the local culture. With Michael this was definitely the case; the three of us created a bond far beyond the mere guest-host relationship, and had a shared intense cultural and learning experience. This is something that I would absolutely recommend to anybody.
Regarding the house, this is definitely a warm place, ideal for longer stays, and where you can really feel at home. The area is pretty quiet and the location is very convenient for scholars and professors going to MIT or Harvard for a sabbatical (10-15 minutes walking!). The living room and kitchen are spacious and comfortable and the rooftop has nice views of the Boston skyline.
Finally, I would like to mention the most important inhabitant in the house, Yürei, Michael’s dog. She is a Samoyed puppy, gorgeous, loving and playful. She certainly cheered up our days. Everybody loves her; it is impossible not to love her.
All in all, we had a great stay at Michael's house and we would definitely repeat in our next visit to Boston.

"This is not only a bnb but a place to make friends. We stayed at Michael's place for 10 nights and had a great time. Everything was easy going and we felt like home. It's a very nice place to be for a visit to Cambridge and Boston due to its location right in the middle between Harvard University and the MIT. The Boston City Center is also just a short distance away. Michael's location is in a vibrant area and he is a very kind and amicable host. Servus from Gerhard, Sylvia and Immanuel."

"We spent a whole month at Michael's place and it has been a wonderful time!
The place is cozy and comfortable, close to Harvard University, Central Square T red line station, shops (Wholefoods market is just a few minutes walk, Inman Square and all its shops are even closer) and restaurants.
Michael even manage to find a crib for our four month old little baby!
In addition to being very kind and willing to help, Michael is a great person to spend time with, being full of interests and various experiences.
Definitely, much more than a bed and breakfast!"

I spent three months here with my family and we have had a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Mike is a warm, welcoming, sympathetic host and he helped our understanding and loving his place and state and country. We had lots of experiential adventures with him.
The place is quiet, full of sun and surrounded by trees. As for the room, it is nice, full of original artwork (mostly canadian) with a brand new kitchen. The roof gives a wonderful spot on both Boston and Cambridge. Sunset & sunside lovers must see it!
A long stay at someone else's place is not always an easy experience but Mike made it smooth and great for all of us. I recommend him for any people who want to stay in Cambridge/Boston.
He truly offers a creative renaissance stay."

"I had a delightful stay at Michael's place. Michael is a good man, kind and generous. I received a very warm welcome from him and his dog. Michael went out of his way for me and as a result the experience was far richer than at a typical B&B. I met some of his friends and family, had meals with him, went on some excursions and we played music together. He is an interesting conversationalist and excellent host. The room was spacious and comfortable and I felt at home there. During my stay I had the perfect balance of seeing the sights and enjoying true local experiences in the neighbourhood. I can highly recommend staying with Michael!"

"I stayed at Michael place almost 2 months. It is very cozy and quiet. I enjoyed privacy of the room and proximity to all attractions in Cambridge. The place is full of arts and collectable items. It has unique spirit of New England. Michael is a great host, interesting companion and generous person. I got complimentary breakfasts and was able to ride his bike. Weekly room service and laundry facility at the place made my student life much easier. We spent time together doing sports, chatting on history and art topics, having dinners at the roof platform and enjoying spectacular view. Once I'm back to Cambridge I'll definitely stay at Michael place again."

"I loved staying at Michael's place - he's a phenomenal host and became a good friend. His place is lovely, very quiet, but centrally located with lots of restaurants, shops, book stores nearby. The roof top is a real treat, with great views of the city. The kitchen is great - very new - and my room was perfect, with a little desk so that I could work at home, too. During my six weeks in Cambridge Michael let me use his bike and even his car (when he didn't need it). Plus: He's fluent in German! Michael really made my stay a memorable experience. I'm looking forward to coming back someday!"
